Community Guidelines.
PROX is a public voice channel that you join automatically by being somewhere. That makes the social contract simple — and a little bit unusual. Here is what we expect, and what happens when those expectations aren't met.
Last updated · May 6, 2026
01Section
Be a person.
- PROX is for real humans talking to other real humans. Don't use bots, audio bridges, or other automation to participate. Don't operate multiple accounts to amplify yourself.
- Don't impersonate other people, public figures, or brands.
02Section
Don't harass anyone.
- No threats, intimidation, doxing, hate speech, or targeted harassment based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age.
- If someone in your bubble asks you to leave them alone, leave them alone.
03Section
Keep it PG-ish.
- PROX is 13+. Audio that is sexually explicit, gratuitously violent, or otherwise inappropriate for that age range is not welcome.
- Sexual content directed at, or involving, minors is never tolerated and will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
04Section
Don't record or rebroadcast.
- Voice on PROX is for the people physically near you, in real time. Recording, rebroadcasting, or publishing other users' voice without their explicit, in-room consent violates these guidelines and may violate the law where you are.
- If you publish audio captured from PROX in violation of this rule, we will ban you.
05Section
Don't fake your location.
- PROX is built on real geography. Spoofing GPS, using location simulators, or otherwise falsifying your position to enter rooms you wouldn't otherwise be in is prohibited.
- We reject implausible location jumps server-side and may suspend accounts that repeatedly trigger our checks.
06Section
No spam, scams, or solicitation.
- Don't use PROX to advertise, recruit, solicit, or push people to other platforms. Don't run scams, phish for credentials, or attempt to defraud anyone.
- Don't use PROX to coordinate illegal activity.
07Section
Use the safety tools.
- Mute users you don't want to hear. Block users you never want to hear from again. Report users who break these rules.
- Reporting is anonymous to the reported user. We review reports manually during the alpha and take action where warranted.
08Section
When you break the rules.
- We may issue a warning, remove content, suspend your account temporarily, or ban your Apple identity permanently — depending on severity, intent, and history.
- Bans block re-signup with the same Apple ID. Trying to evade a ban is itself a violation.
- If you believe a moderation decision was wrong, write to safety@prox.app within 30 days.
09Section
Emergencies.
- If someone is in immediate danger, call local emergency services first. PROX is not a substitute for 911 / 112 / 999.
- We will cooperate with valid legal process from law enforcement.
Plain-English questions about anything on this page are welcome. If something here feels unclear, that's on us — tell us and we'll fix it.
